Creative recount

This is a story made from my imagination in the form of a recount. I have been learning how to use complex punctuation such as dashes, semi-colons, and colons, etc. My next step is probably to create suspense and use more descriptive language. Enjoy:)

Lost

“Wait up!!”I heard Maki yell from behind, “we should wait” I said to Toge, as I looked over

my shoulder to see Maki scurrying around the rocks trying to catch up. “Nah, she’ll catch

up” Toge replied “But-” “Just hurry up the tunnels are right there,” He said in a stern

voice. Toge dragged me behind a bush “What are you doing the tunnels are right there-”

“Shut up,” He said as he covered my mouth with his hand; tired, worn-out

Maki trampled towards the iron doors calling for us, before slowly going inside the

pitch-black, gun tunnels.

10 minutes later, Maki was still inside. I began to feel worried and Toge must’ve too because

he stood up and walked towards the heavy iron door before hauling it open. I looked into

the dark nothingness, I followed close behind him. I was terrified at the very least but I

didn’t want to stay outside in the forest by myself or look like a chicken. I switched on my

torch, trailing behind Toge. As we went deeper and deeper into the tunnels the world

around us became engulfed in darkness, the only light was the torch as it lit up the cold

cement path in front of us. “Maki!” I screamed out into the darkness… No response except

for the echoes of my own voice. “This is your fault” I complained “How?” He snapped back

“I told you to wait but nooo, you wanna play pranks on her. “Now she’s lost and we might be

too.” I huffed. We walked quietly listening closely for Maki.

“Toge?” A voice with a hint of fear shrieked out. I pointed the torch to the tunnel on the

right to see the faint shadow of Maki. “Maki over here!” I screeched. I apologized for

leaving her by herself, Toge said nothing. Then…Bang! Some of the old artillery down the

staircase had toppled over. But how? I froze. With no second thoughts, Maki grabbed my

hand running and dragging me away, the sound of claws scratching against the cement walls

rang out, taunting me. Though it snapped me back into reality, I ran fast, faster than I

ever have; having not the slightest idea where I was going or where I was supposed to go.

There it was, the dim light shone inside giving me a sense of hope. I was out. I fell to the

ground, panting from exhaustion. Everything had happened so fast-almost too fast.

On the walk back to Maki and Toge’s home, not a word was said. “I still think it was your

fault,” I muttered to Toge, “Was not.” He said nastily, “Don’t lie,” I  argued. We went

back and forth. “Shut up!” Maki yelled. We remained quiet, only the sound of crickets

echoed throughout the forest. We finally arrived at the house. I was done, I vowed to

myself that I would never, ever go back there again. Even if my life depended on it.

Narrative

This is my narrative writing it is based on an ocean adventure. This is straight from my imagination well hope you enjoy!

The Last ride

It was a windy day in the middle of the ocean, three kids were on the run.

“A storm coming from the north!” Norman yelled from the top of the ship as the

wind blew his white hair into his ocean blue eyes, “Which way!?” Asked a boy with

black bed hair that looked almost like a rooster.  Emma - a girl with orange hair -

yelled loudly, trying to talk over the loud whistling wind  “Ray head south, away from

the storm.” she replied. The waves were becoming bigger, crashing over the side of

the big brown pirate ship making it harder to keep balance, it was the perfect storm.

“Quick Ray find an Island!!” The storm was catching up “THERE!” Norman shouted

from the bow of the ship “HEAD EAST!” Ray took a sharp left towards the island-

BOOM! A cannon shot, hurling a cannonball towards them at a horrifying speed.

Ray turned the boat swiftly and the boat creaked, dodging the raging ball of fire

by merely an inch. Ray was a very skilled sailor. “MORE INCOMING FROM THE EAST

!!!” screeched Norman. “Ray we are going to have to fight, they're blocking our way,”

Emma said seriously “are you ready?” “Ready” Norman prepared to light the cannon.

Emma and Norman faced the canon towards the enemy's ship “NOW” BANG!!  The

storm had caught them up. The dark blue waves slammed against the ship showering

the crew leaving them drenched but they had no time to moan about the horrid

conditions. After all, they were in the middle of a war.

Their cannonball had missed and the enemy ship was rapidly charging towards them.

Grapple hooks clenched onto the masts of the ship; they were connected to the

enemy ship by a tough rope preventing Emma, Norman, and Ray from escaping.

“We’ve got you now!” The enemy leader screamed out “Isabelle?!?” Emma thought.

The enemies used the rope to slide to their ship it was 5 : 3 in numbers it was unfair

in numbers but in skills? We will have to find out…  SHING! Emma drew her sword

so did two men from the other ship, “When we take you in we will be rich.” They

struck their sword at her, she dodged their attempts with ease, she then ducked

putting one foot out tripping the men charging at her, as a result, they went

overboard into the roaring waves. Ray had knocked out one of the intruders.

3 v 2 Norman, Ray, and Emma had the enemies cornered. “We’ll be back soon!”

They shouted as they grappled away in fear “and we’ll be ready” Emma replied in a

stern voice. The waves were overrunning the sides of the ship then sliding back into

the ocean slowly like a snake. The rain was pouring down, Norman fell to the ground.

Ray took the wheel and got them to the island. They anchored up realising that

Norman was quiet. Emma ran to him looking to see what was wrong. She fell silent

staring at him in awe. “Emma, what’s wrong?” Ray asked with a worried look. There

was blood; a lot of blood. “See you soon,” He said with a weak smile before he closed

his eyes and never spoke again. “ NOOO NORMAN” Emma screamed with tears

streaming down her face dropping onto Norman’s lifeless body. Ray stared in shock

and pain as faint tears rolled down his face as well. The thunder grew louder and the

rain became heavier. They picked up Norman’s lifeless body,  they both dug him a

grave on the island.

Ray and Emma went on their own path; they had their own lives now. Ray was living in

the city he became a doctor and was wealthy living in the city of New York. Emma

stayed on the waters exploring everything the big blue had to offer. They will never

forget the days they spent together, Ray, Emma, and Norman.

Summarising makes understanding reading easier :)

We are learning the reading comprehension skill of summarising. Summarising is basically putting main ideas and keywords into a shorter form its a good skill to have but it takes some work =.= Anyways here is my work :)

Maths

In maths, we have been learning about dividing numbers by 100s and 1000s here's a little poster about that.

Kororareka's great battle

Wisdom

For devotions, we have been learning about wisdom. Like what it is? How we can get wisdom? We have mostly reading proverbs which were written by the wisest man in the Bible King Solomon.
