Is your diet healthy?

In class, we have been learning about a healthy diet and how to have one. We were then told to write a persuasive argument about healthy diets. The question we got asked is Eating whatever you like and how much you like leads to a happy, healthy life? We had to write our opinion and why we thought this soooooo.... HERE'S MINE!

Do you think eating whatever you like leads to a happy, healthy life? Personally, I disagree. Even though eating whatever you want may fulfill your happiness it doesn’t fulfill your health. Why do I disagree you ask? Hopefully, after this, you will think the same. My main ideas will be around portion control, eating the right nutrients, and the impact on you. Consuming too much junk food can have consequences, that's why you should always control your portion size. According to Google and a lot of p research, an average 13-year-old boy consumes around 2800 calories a day while a 13 yr old girl consumes 2400, and to burn 2000 calories you will have to run at least 18 miles to burn that off. Not being active can lead to obesity and obesity can affect you majorly. Many kids around the world suffer from obesity. It is a major problem. Not eating a decent portion of food could result in long life consequences as well. That's why you should always control your portion size and eat the right amount your body needs to live.

Eating the right amount of vitamins and minerals is extremely important. It affects your body's growth, height, bones, and all. Not eating the right vitamins and minerals damage your life physically and mentally. If your bones do not develop properly, bone tissue will collapse which can cause horrendous pain to the body. Which may result in surgery or worse.

Eating unhealthy can affect your life majorly. It can cause heart, emotional, and weight problems. Heart problems can lead to strokes which could put you in a hospital or worse that could affect your family's emotions too. You wouldn’t want that right? Having an unhealthy diet can lead to stress or depression. Which could have a high impact on your life socially you could be lonely or be teased and mocked continuously. If you're pregnant it can even affect your baby's effects such as premature birth, low birth weight, and so on. Obesity is also a result of unhealthy eating.

In conclusion, I believe that eating whatever you want whenever you want is very bad for the body. I have stated my three main reasons why I believe we should eat healthily and I hope you will think the same and if you have an unhealthy diet, hopefully, you will change it. Next time you buy food or groceries, think twice about what you're eating.
