Writing snapshot

In class, I have been reading about Jesus Christ's life and looking for acts of courage. I then had 30 minutes to write about it.

Intro thing

Have you ever heard of Jesus? Jesus was a very wise man, he was the definition of perfect, he was the

Son of God himself but he was still a human just like us. Many powerful men hated him but Jesus had the courage to continue spreading the gospel, How? He had faith in God. Jesus performed many acts of courage throughout his life that are recorded in the bible like the storm, standing up to the Pharisees, and the cross. For all, we know he could’ve and probably did much more.

The storm

A great example of Jesus showing courage is in Luke 8:22 also known as The Storm is about a monstrous

storm that almost capsized the ship making Jesus's disciples panic. Jesus shows courage by staying calm and rebuking* the storm, making it die down. Although it’s only a short story it has a deeper meaning

a figurative meaning, the storm can refer to a problem or problems you are having in your life, even

though things are looking bad or it seems like you’re at rock bottom stay calm, speak with authority over

your problems and always have unwavering faith.

Pharisees

Another thing Jesus had to deal with in his lifetime was The Pharisees, why would they go against the Son

of the God they believe in? Envy. Jesus stood up to these Pharisees calling them blind of their own wicked

ways saying they were only power-hungry and abused the power they had making their envy turn into

hatred. They were jealous that Jesus could perform miracles while they couldn’t and that was their tipping

point. which is also the main reason Jesus was crucified. Even though someone is stronger or bigger than

you, you can still confront them about their wrongdoings all you need is courage.

The cross

The night Jesus found out about his fate he cried and prayed. He was sweating tears of blood,

though he was tempted to abandon everything and go against God’s will but he had the courage to go

through with it despite the fact he knew about everything that was going to happen to him. So when Judah

gave the Pharisees Jesus’s whereabouts for gold, Jesus was ready. He was brutally tortured for days until

he was finally nailed to the cross. Why would God do this to his son? John 3:16 says “For God so loved

the world he gave his one and only son so that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal

life." Jesus sacrificed himself to forgive the sins of the human race, to give us the chance to walk with

God, and give us eternal life.

Conclusion

Even if we are Christian or not each and every one of us can learn a thing or two or a lot from Jesus.

Throughout this writing, I have told you some of the many stories about Jesus showing courage.

No matter what others may think of you or how insecure you may be about yourself, we

should have the courage to stand up to what we believe is right and have faith in God just like Jesus did.

Rebuke - Speak authority over; sternly scold.
